Urs is nicknamed the ‘Urminator’ because of his distinctive climbing style, and the speed at which he ascends the treacherous routes. Ranked fifth in the world for speed, he is renowned as one of the world's top ice mountaineers. Winner of the world cup in 2006, the ‘Urminator' finished second in the overall world cup two years later. In addition to being a two-time Swiss champion for speed and a two-time Austrian champion for difficulty, he has also won the Slovenian cup and Ice Factor. While his career has gone from strength to strength, Urs has also found time outside of competition to write two books!
