Hassan Mouti has withdrawn from the final two competitions of the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series in order to continue his recovery.

Hassan, who was injured during a crash in Athens in May, returned to cliff diving two months later in Malcesine, but, despite also diving in the first round of the penultimate stop in Boston on Friday, he has decided now to step back from competition.

The 31-year-old will focus his energies in order to return at full strength for the qualification for the 2012 World Series to be staged next year.

His place in Saturday's 14-man-strong competition will be taken by the 22-year-old American David Colturi.
