Red Bull Ajo Motorsport rider Marc Marquez stormed to his fourth MotoGP 125cc victory in a row after dominating his rivals in the Gran Premi Aperol de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain on Sunday.
And the win means that the 17-year-old becomes the youngest ever rider to claim four successive MotoGP victories, while also lifting him to first place in the overall championship standings.
Marquez, who takes over from Valentino Rossi as the youngest ever four-timer, was the winner in front of his home fans by a comfortable margin of 4.638 seconds, ahead of Britain's Bradley Smith, with Pol Espargaro claiming the final podium spot after Nico Terol crashed out on the final lap.
Smith briefly headed Marquez after getting a fast start, but the Spaniard, who began the race from pole position, recovered and Smith's lead lasted only until Turn 1 when he ran wide allowing Marquez through.
Marquez then went on to set a blistering pace and the race then became about who would finish second, as Smith, Espargaro and Terol battled it out behind Marquez, with the fifth placed rider a further 40 seconds behind that trio.
Terol pushed hard for that second place in and in so doing, almost hit Espargaro before having a highside that ended his race, but Marquez's recent domination sees him one point ahead of Espargaro in the overall standings, with Terol back in third place, 13 points behind Espargaro.
