Hot Chip EMI

We take another of our regular looks at all that's new in the world of music, including a possible collaboration between Jack White and Jay-Z.

Hot Chip follow up their One Life Stand single and album release with their new tune I Feel Better. The video, directed by comedian Peter Serafinowicz, took the band’s record company by surprise when it managed to be literally all over the internet before even they had a chance to do anything. Shall we see what all the fuss is about?

There are very few areas of the planet where the band won’t be playing this summer, but do keep an eye on www.hotchip.co.uk for details.

Swedish songstress Robyn has relaunched her official website www.robyn.com this week, which has hints of what to expect – specifically a track, called Fembot – from her next album, the follow up to 2005's breakthrough Konichiwa Bitches. In fact, Robyn is planning to release three albums this year, which should include recent collaborations with Royksopp, Major Lazer and Snoop Dogg.

Jack White continues being the busiest man on Earth. While finishing off a new Dead Weather album, producing his wife's album and unleashing quite good live White Stripes albums on the people, he also claims he's worked with Jay-Z. According to an interview in GQ magazine, the Striper claimed he had just done it after having a riff laying around (like one does), but there were no real plans or ideas of what to do with it as yet. Oooh. www.whitestripes.com.
