- Tom Sizemore (Saving Private Ryan/boyfriend of Hollywood Madame Heidi Fleiss,) plays FBI Agent Ridley alongside Dante Basco (Hook) in Murder 101 (aka C.L.A.S.S) that is selling in Cannes. The blurb describes it as a “teen slasher that is aiming to be the horror guilty pleasure this season with slick production values, backstabbing girls, hot soundtrack selections and some gory killings...” Nice
- Kanye West did the full diva act in a restaurant in Cannes. Before he would even enter, the rapper sent three bodyguards ahead to scout out Le Vesuvio on La Croisette. When Kanye arrived, one of his entourage passed a CD to the manager and asked him to play it. It wasn’t his latest album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, but a collection of new material. Soon the bass was pumping and Kanye’s crew was dancing on the street while the star went from table to table asking diners how his beats were going down. ”It's just for Europe, I'm just experimenting,” he said. “You like?" It appeared not. After a fourth request to turn the music off, the manager obliged, but not before asking Kanye to pose for a photo for their celebrity wall. In Cannes to host the Maybach Foundation bash alongside Quincy Jones, Kanye finished his burger and freedom fries and left the diners in peace.

Starring Phil Davis and Theo Barklem-Biggs the movie tells the story of the unlikely friendship between a hapless young burglar and his eccentric victim who form an unlikely bond that will help them both find a way out of their respective troubles.
- The distribution arm of Mel Gibson’s company Icon are trying to wrangle their way out of their distribution contract for Terrence Mallick’s Tree Of Life (starring Sean Penn and Brad Pitt) saying that Mallick was 18 months late in delivery and that his refusal to do press and his preventing stills from the film being used for promotion has made it almost impossible to promote the film.
