German pairing Julius Brink and Jonas Reckermann made an earlier-than-anticipated exit from the Beach Volleyball Grand Slam in Klagenfurt
But in their off-court blog, the duo tell us about the rest of the season to come – one which should finish with the two on top.
"For us, Klagenfurt was not very successful. We dropped out earlier in the tournament than we had expected. The competition is really strong here – all the top teams are in the field and that makes it tough.
"It's simply the most important tournament next to the European and World Championships, and the vibe in the stadium is pretty much the best you can get. Klagenfurt is also about all the parties and people around the event. To be honest, we did not see too much of that, simply because we need to recover after playing all day!
"This season has been very exhausting so far, because we've been very successful and have had to play at our maximum all the time. Right now, our performance has dropped a little, but we will be back in full force for the European Championship Final in Sochi in September, and we are quite confident we'll win it!"
