Registration for Red Bull's Art Of Can, where creative types model all manner of sculptures and installations using the iconic blue and silver Red Bull can as their inspiration, is now open for this summer's event in Singapore.
2010 Red Bull Art of Can Singapore will be held from July 2–11, 2010, at the brand-new *SCAPE, located just a stone's throw off Singapore's busiest shopping street, Orchard Road. The exhibition will feature artists based in Singapore and original pieces of artworks created with, or inspired by, the blue and silver Red Bull cans.
Located at the 5th level Art Gallery within *SCAPE, the exhibition is open to the general public from July 3–11, and entry is free.
Red Bull Art of Can is a nationwide hunt for creativity and is open to everyone, from full-time artists to those who simply possess a creative flair. Build, sculpt, weld, glue, hammer, bend, fold, print, tape and paint – it's up to you! Your primary material must be a blue and silver Red Bull can, but you will need to add plenty of imagination and creativity. Make a sculpture, a picture, a 3D model, a mobile, a video or a piece of modern art, but make it beautiful, colourful, clever, amusing or outrageous.
The five-month-long campaign will culminate in the premium art exhibition at *SCAPE, where the selected pieces will be displayed and the top three pieces will win attractive prizes. The judges will select the top winners just prior to the final exhibition, with the winner to be announced on opening night, Friday, July 2.
Registration is now open and submissions deadline is May 15, 2010. Further details are to be found at www.redbullartofcan.sg
