A Very Different Turkish Bath

The ultimate high-diving thrills come to Antalya in Turkey for the fifth round of this year’s Red Bull Cliff Diving series this weekend.

With Colombia’s Orlando Duque stretching his lead at the top of the standings in the last round in Italy to 18pts over nearest rival Gary Hunt, the other divers will need to raise their game to a new level – quite literally. Antalya boasts the highest diving point of any round in the series, at 27.5m (compared to the usual mere 26m height), allowing more technical work during the dive before hitting the concrete-hard surface of the sea below, and the other 11 hopefuls will want to take advantage.

Thousands of spectators are expected to come and witness this high-dive masterclass, as they have done in the earlier visits to France, the Netherlands, Croatia and Italy this year.

Current standings
1. Orlando Duque     (COL)   76
2. Gary Hunt             (GBR)   58
3. Artem Silchenko   (RUS)   46
